This video is from a great government website about Internet safety OnGuardOnline.gov. They provide practical tips on a variety of topics, like avoiding scams, identity theft, spyware, cyberbullying, and kids' privacy, to name just a few. There are also educational games and videos available, as well as free tools and publications for places like libraries to use to spread the word.
Kids' online safety and privacy are hot topics right now. As being online becomes an even greater part of our lives, the importance of educating kids how to make wise decisions online will only become more important. I'm curious to know if anyone has already addressed these issues in your library. What kinds of things have you done -- or do you think could be done -- to raise awareness about online safety for both parents and kids? \\
