I Know I'm Tired of the Same Old Same Old

books for new readers.  Recently, an article in the Post Gazette highlighted a few choice titles.  Many early readers out there seem pretty dry and boring, but there is a new movement in the genre to get clever.

One notable series is by our dear brilliant, handsome funny friend, Mo Willems.  There's Cat the Cat Who is That? and What's Your Sound Hound the Hound?  And Let's Say Hi to Friends Who Fly and Time to Sleep, Sheep the Sheep (unlinked titles are not owned in Allegheny County.)

That brilliant Fly Guy by Ted Arnold is another great choice for new readers.

Cowgirl Kate and Cocoa is a fun one by Erica Silverman.

Ling and Ting: Not Exactly the Same unfortunately there isn't a copy in our system (hurry, someone run out and buy these books!) but it's a super book by the renowned Grace Lin.

Annie and Snowball series by the always a winner, Cynthia Rylant, is another great choice for new readers.
