National Center for Family Literacy

A new site and organization to me so I thought I'd share. NCFL is up to all sorts of good things. From partnering with other foundations and organizations to create some pretty tasty grants to offering a slew of free resources for parents and educators (including a cool podcast!) to hosting a national conference (in 2010 it's in San Antonio, TX - road trip anyone?)

I really like the premise of the organization - that literacy, across the family, can mean worlds of opportunities for both children and parents. Much like the mission of the library!

Thanks so much for your kind words about NCFL!

To show our appreciation for what you and other libraries across the country do for families, we have partnered with Better World Books for the Libraries and Families Award, and I thought your audience might like to know about it. Just visit our website (www.famlit.org) to sign up for more information.

Thanks again, and keep up the good work!
