Best Practices 2008 Winners in Allegheny County

Congratulations to our winners! Mt. Lebanon Public Library and Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped who both won the 2008 PaLA Best Practices Award for Programs that Showcase Community Collaborations! Mt Lebanon held a Nationality Night where families from Eastern Europe and Asia were welcomed with stories, translators, free books and highlighted resources. CLP's LBPH created an Initially Braille program which they offered at events in a 36-county area. It sounds like both programs offer the chance for families and children to connect to themselves and each other - one of libraries' most priceless offerings! Congratulations guys!
